Oh my! How my heart longs for my little ones to be able to do this…
When my first three were little, we lived in NY so this was an almost daily event (wether permitting, of course). But my last three were all born here, in South FL, where the fire ants will literally (yes, literally) eat your lovies alive if they have the opportunity. So, no barefeet in the grass, let alone moments of just sitting and savoring it. Stinks, right?
I am a whole week late. But better late than never, eh? … I have learned not to say “say cheese!” because this is what my little will do every.single.time. *giggle*

That’s funny you talk about the fire ants. My dad spent some of his younger years in FL as well as met my mom in Florida. When I was born they moved back to FL for a brief stint… anyway, they tell me one day when I was just a baby I crawled out of the house and sat in a fire ant hill. My mom thankfully found me right away, brushed off all the ants and I came away with only a few bites. She tells this story on occasion. I’m not sure I believe all of it. There’s also a gator story too…
