sick sleeper kitten

eloise: you had a head cold this week so portrait pictures were few and far between. This shot was a rare one too because of how light a sleeper you are. I can never capture you sleeping. I was able to this week, during your afternoon nap, after propping you up on the pillow (to make it easier for you to breathe through that stuffy little nose of yours).

bunny girl

eloise: you’ve been wanting to wear this bunny hat every day. You find it in my bag or in a basket and bring it to me signing “help” for me to put it on you. I love the innocence in this picture. You had been practicing your new walking skills and carrying books over to Daddy for him to read and all of a sudden you fell to your knees. I captured this shot and immediately knew I would use it for this week’s portrait. My beautiful bunny baby.

eloise: You have been a busy girl this week. You are so close to walking.  You’ve taken several steps here and there and walk along side the walls and around the dining room table, holding on with one hand. You are so close! You also are enjoying playing with your toys for longer periods of time on your own. This picture was of you zooming your cars around the dining room. I captured your sweet smile as you picked up your car to show me. This was also the first time I got pig tails in your hair. My, you are growing up so fast!

yum

eloise: You are ruff and tumble. You are queen of the playground slides. You are hands in everything. Explorer of all textures and sensory experiences. You are strong-willed and eager. You are pretend laughter and animal noise imitator. You are wisps of blond. You are cuddle monkey. You are lover of books and horses and dogs and bananas and Chipotle carnitas and “milky milk”. Wagon rider and champion wrap nurser. You are Ellie Mungojerr, twelve months old, my sunshine, my monkey, my love.

beachy one year old

eloise: you are a one year old! Wow, did that go by quick! We had a lovely party to celebrate on sunday and then this picture was taken on your actual birthday, after dinner with your Nana and Papa, right before we headed home for the evening. You were quite happy scooping rocks up and digging into the chilly evening sand with your toes. You fell asleep on my chest that night, just as you had done a year ago, pink and brand new.

grampas birthday

eloise: it’s getting harder to take your “portrait” these days because you are constantly moving, constantly doing and going and climbing and playing and exploring. I’m thinking my portraits will be taking a different turn from now on and I’m looking forward to capturing my almost one year old in more action shots. This shot was taken while at a park near your Gramma and Grandpa’s house. It was your Grandpa’s birthday this week and we spent a wonderful morning with him. You are enjoying all sorts of new things like the swings, climbing the climbers, swimming in a pool (for the first time this week) and sliding down a slide on your own. I’m so excited to celebrate your first birthday this weekend and see what new things you learn every day after!

munglejerr

eloise: you are thankfully feeling much better after getting a yucky bug and a funny rash all over your face and body. It’s no fun seeing you so tired and achey and not being able to do much about it except for nurse which thankfully you were doing a lot of this past week. Now you are eating solids again and laughing and throwing things. Sure signs you are getting better. Let’s all try and stay healthy for your big day coming up! We can’t wait to celebrate you!
